King Tomislav Square is one of the symbols of Zagreb, in the centre of the city. It was named after the first Croatian king, who ruled from 910 to 928, and his state spread from river Drava on the north to the Adriatic Coast. The territory under his rule included Dalmatian towns, which sped up the process of Croatianizing Roman population.
